Searching for the perfect gift? You’re sure to find it at the Christmas Market on Main Street! This two-day (Dec. 7-8) event is one of the most anticipated, every holiday season.
Close to 100 vendors line the street selling everything from nautical paintings and handmade soaps to Christmas wreaths and jewelry! The Town Crier will ring in the market at 10 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a performance from the Fifes and Drums of York Town to officially open the market. Then, Santa Claus himself will ride in on York County’s first fire truck, before mingling with the crowd to greet families. Expect strolling musical entertainment throughout the day to add to the festive atmosphere.
The free, accessible Yorktown Trolley will be in operation beginning at 11 a.m. during this event.
About Yorktown Historic Main Street:
Located in the heart of Historic Yorktown, Main Street is lined with significant architecture that played a key role in both the American Revolution and the Civil War. The Custom House displays historical artifacts and detailed sketches depicting life and activities in the 1860s. During the holiday season, it also features a special Colonial Christmas Ornament Exhibit. At the top of the hill, Mobjack Coffee Roasters & Petite Café occupies the Historic Cole Digges House, circa 1730, and is part of the Yorktown Colonial National Historical Park. Remarkably, it is one of the original village buildings that predates the Revolutionary War. Next door, the Little York Confectionery, also known as the Sommerwell House, adds to the charm of this historic area. Finally, at the end of the street, the iconic Victory Monument stands proudly, commemorating the pivotal 1781 victory at Yorktown.
